Peter Watt fishing lobster off Margaree Harbour. Peter kept a cabin on the property of George Thomas and Lynn Zimmerman, to stay in while he fished in the spring. He started fishing lobster from the Belle Cote wharf, later bought a license from the person he fished with, fishing for some time with Ian Sherman, and continued to fish until the mid/late 1980s, working for CUSO in Vanuato in the winter. He wrote a book about his experiences in Cape Breton and in the South Pacific, called “Gone Fishing with the Natives”, published in 2014. Peter Watt was from Toronto, and went to school at Mount Allison University, before finding his way to Margaree.
