Chimney Corner, 1977
2015.01.16
The greenhouse of Ann Richardson and John Nesbitt, two artists from Montreal and New York, who sometimes wintered in Amsterdam, but lived most of the time at Chimney Corner. As noted in other entries, John Nesbitt was a sculptor from New York, who exhibited widely before moving to Cape Breton, and died about a decade ago. Ann Richardson is from Montreal and still lives in Chimney Corner. She is a painter who makes abstract modernist works like Agnes Martin and rarely exhibits her work. There is an outdoor sculpture by John Nesbitt on the Cape Breton University campus.
