Anne and Gary Morrell’s house, with a machine for cutting shingles sitting on the front lawn. Anne and Gary purchased this house from Michael Armentraut in 1975. Gary Morrell ran a sawmill on the property. This farm is located on the west side of Big Intervale, just south of the bridge. Prior to it being bought by Armentraut (who now goes by Michael Roosevelt) it belonged to the MacKay family. The first image in Don MacGillivray and Allan Sekula’s Mining Pictures and Other Photographs:1948-1968 (NSCAD University Press, 1983) is of several hunters standing by a car, was taken in front of this house.
