Molly Lamb Bobak was born in 1922, in Vancouver, where she later attended Vancouver School of Art from 1938-1941, studying with Jack Shadbolt. Appointed as the first official Canadian woman war artist during World War II, Bobak painted the experiences of female soldiers at home and overseas. In 1960 Bobak moved to Fredericton, New Brunswick, with her husband Bruno Bobak, who is also an artist. At this point Bobak painted mostly landscapes, cityscapes, flowers, and people, with oils and watercolour. Today, many of Bobaks pieces are hung in Canada's major galleries.
